How it works

Three steps, no obligation

1

Tell us about your business

Share a few details and, if available, a recent water bill.

2

David checks the numbers

We review your current charges and explain whether a switching quote could offer better value.

3

You decide

If you choose to proceed, we help arrange the switch. Switching retailer won’t interrupt your water supply, only who bills you changes.

Questions, answered without the jargon

Can my business switch water retailer?

Most eligible businesses in England and Scotland can choose which licensed retailer bills them for water and waste water. In England the market opened in April 2017; in Scotland it opened earlier, in 2008. In Wales the right to switch is restricted to larger users, so we check Welsh eligibility on a case-by-case basis. Your actual water supply comes through the same regional network whoever bills you.

Will switching interrupt my water supply?

No. Switching retailer changes who bills you, not the water itself. Same pipes, same taps, same water. There is no work at your premises and no interruption to your supply.

Is the bill check really free?

Yes. The initial review of your current bill, and the explanation of your options, is free and comes with no obligation. If any other service ever carried a charge, we would tell you clearly before you agreed to anything.

Do I have to switch after requesting a check?

No. Asking David to check your bill does not commit you to anything. You decide whether to proceed once you have seen the numbers.

What information do you need?

To begin, your business name, site postcode and a way to reach you. A recent water bill helps us make a more accurate comparison, but you can provide that later if you don’t have one handy.

What if I am still in a contract?

That is worth checking rather than assuming. We look at your existing contract terms and any possible exit charges so you can weigh up whether switching now, or at renewal, makes more sense.

Can you help with several premises?

Yes. If you run more than one site we can look at whether simpler billing and less administration across your premises is achievable, alongside the review of your charges.

What happens if there is no worthwhile saving?

We tell you honestly. If you already appear to be on a suitable deal, or switching would not clearly benefit your business, we will say so. There is no pressure to change for the sake of it.

How does Profitwize get paid?

The initial bill review is free to you. If you choose to switch, the water retailer pays us a commission. That commission is part of the retailer’s wider pricing, so we set out the retailer and the contract terms clearly before you agree to anything, and you decide whether the deal is right for your business.
